Handmade Doll - Bespoke Series { Alessandra }
It was a warm Autumn day here in Brisbane, Australia when I had rang Katie to discuss the design brief for her upcoming bespoke order. She had chosen the Uniquely Yours Bespoke Doll for her daughter, Alessandra, to commemorate her upcoming christening.
Katie was so easy to talk with. I had a sense of connection with her from the very first “Hello” and to this day I still remember the excitement I felt to be making this special keepsake for darling Alessandra. What an honour it was to be asked to share in a moment so special.
Over the next few weeks I waited with anticipation to receive some photos to replicate from. The moment they arrived, I was in love! The cutest little darling in the most amazing dress – I could picture her doll in my mind’s eye already. She was going to be amazing!
I sourced endlessly for the perfect materials. This process took much longer than initially anticipated - 10 different fabrics down and after months I finally found the perfect shade of salmon pink.
I was so appreciative of Katie’s patience and feedback during this time, the smallest of details were important to both of us. It was here that I implemented new time saving procedures to ensure a smoother process for both myself & my clients.
Most will just see a beautiful doll, however I see the love over many hours, over many months, to perfection. Not one stitch out of place, not one detail missed.
It was the greatest honor to be entrusted with such a special creation, and she will forever be in my heart.
Words from Katie:
