Caring for your Handmade Doll

At Upper Dhali®, every handmade doll is created to become a cherished keepsake — a quiet holding of wonder, memory, and artistry. Each piece is lovingly handcrafted with care, patience, and intention, designed to be treasured for many years to come.

To preserve the beauty and delicate craftsmanship of your heirloom doll, we recommend the following gentle care guidelines.

Important Safety Information

Upper Dhali® dolls are handcrafted art dolls and keepsake collectibles. They are not toys and are not intended for play.

These dolls may contain small parts, embellishments, decorative trims, and delicate materials. They are not suitable for children under 3 years of age (36 months), or for any person who may mouth, chew, suck, bite, or otherwise place any part of the doll in their mouth.

Upper Dhali® dolls are designed for display and gentle handling only. Adult supervision is recommended whenever a child is handling or viewing the doll. Rough handling, play, or excessive manipulation may result in damage that is not covered under warranty.

Displaying Your Doll

To showcase your doll while ensuring its longevity, we recommend displaying it on a high-quality doll stand for stability. For added protection from dust and environmental factors, a glass cloche, shadow box, or dedicated display cabinet provides a beautiful and secure way to enjoy your keepsake for years to come.

Caring for Your Doll

Upper Dhali® dolls are fine art keepsakes designed for display and gentle handling. They are not intended for everyday play or rough handling. To protect delicate fabrics, embellishments, and hand-finished details, we recommend handling your doll with clean, dry hands to minimise the transfer of natural skin oils.

Cleaning Your Doll

Spot clean only using a soft, clean, damp cloth. Do not submerge your doll in water, place it in a washing machine, or use a dryer. Avoid harsh cleaning products, bleach, or vigorous scrubbing, as these may damage delicate fabrics, trims, and decorative finishes.

Storing Your Doll

When not on display, store your doll in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to help prevent fading. We recommend using a breathable fabric bag or archival-quality box rather than plastic, which can trap moisture. Dolls may be stored standing or lying flat to help maintain the natural shape and appearance of their clothing and hair.
